I’ve gotten several good questions about SageRock Places. So I thought I would put the answers all in one place.

I will continue to add to this list as new questions come along. Here goes:

Who does all the technical stuff?

We do! We will get all of your programs working correctly. We will make sure your domain name is working. We’ll handle all the technical things so that you can focus on building your business, not building a Web site.

Who does the site design and layout?

SageRock Places is run on a very sophisticated framework that gives you complete control over the layout of your website. You can easily switch from a three column layout to a one column layout with the click of a button. You can also change colors and fonts in a very easy to use interface.

There is a great deal of customization and flexibility built directly into SageRock Places. You will be guided step-by-step on how to use the customization components.

You are also able to easily upload a header image that will make you stand apart.

There’s a great deal you can do to make your SageRock Places website your own.

But if at any time you get stuck or have difficulties you have the backing of a complete, full service digital marketing agency: SageRock. We can help you at any point along the way.

This is yet another valuable aspect of using SageRock Places. We have your back. If you need help we are there for you.

What if I want to move my site from SageRock Places?

Because this is built on WordPress, everything is very exportable. At any point in time you can download your content and move it to another server.

We have seen time and again a company get involved with a proprietary content management system and then they are stuck. A homegrown content management system very often makes it incredibly difficult or impossible to get your content out. WordPress is not like that. Your content is yours. You should be able to do with it whatever you want.

I have no experience with any kind of Web marketing or website programming. Will I be able to use SageRock Places?

Absolutely! Because we are running on WordPress you have a very intuitive and easy-to-use system. The goal of SageRock Places is to give everyone a website that makes their business more successful. This should not be out of reach to people who don’t have a lot of money or who are not technically savvy.

SageRock Places is more than just a place where you get a website. SageRock Places believes that creating a website is just the beginning. We show you how to make your website successful. That is the difference of SageRock Places.

Who is SageRock Places for?

It is not for large businesses. Large businesses often times have a great deal of bureaucracy and layers of management. SageRock Places is for small to midsize businesses that can move fast and make decisions quickly.

  • SageRock Places can be used in multiple ways. It can give you a platform to create a blog that is tied directly into your main website (we will show you exactly how to do that).
  • It can also be used as your main website.
  • Or possibly you need a micro-site for specific campaigns that you are doing, possibly an e-mail or pay-per-click advertising.

Can I use my own domain name?

Absolutely! In fact, we prefer it. The goal here is to build up content and links to your web site. Don’t worry. It’s very easy to do. And we’ll help you along the way.

If you want to point your entire domain to a site on SageRock places, it is a 3 step process.

First, you need to change your name servers where you purchased your domain to these 2 name servers:
AK1.AKRONESS.COM
AK2.AKRONESS.COM

Second, just let us know. We will park the name on our server.

Third, you will add this domain to SageRock Places under Tools > Domain Mapping.

If you want to create a subdomain (like: blog.yourdomain.com) to point to a site on SageRock Places that is something you can do all on your own. It is a 2 step process:

First, you need to create a CNAME record in your Domain Name System (DNS) pointing to the following domain name for this server: sagerockplaces.com

Second, you will add this domain to SageRock Places under Tools > Domain Mapping.

And if none of this makes any sense or if you have other questions just let us know. Go here to contact us.
